NVQ LEVEL III in CARE

Course Description/Aim
This course aims to provide candidates with the skills and knowledge
necessary to work in a supervisory capacity within the care environment.
Syllabus To achieve full award (Twelve Units), a candidate must complete
all five mandatory units plus seven optional units Mandatory Units • Foster
peoples equality, diversity and rights • Promote effective communication
and relationships • Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and
security in the workplace • Develop ones own knowledge and practice •
Contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse Option Group A •
Undertake agreed clinical activities with clients whose health is stable in
non acute care settings • Prepare and undertake agreed clinical activities
with clients in acute care settings • Enable individuals to find out about
and use services and facilities • Enable individuals to administer their
financial affairs • Support individuals in undertaking health care •
Contribute to the movement and handling of individuals to maximise their
physical comfort. • Support individuals when they are distressed Contribute
to the management of client continence.

Eligibility/Pre-requisites
The award is largely assessed through being observed in the workplace, carrying
out the necessary skills required for each unit. In addition assessment can
be undertaken through questioning, accreditation of prior learning,
simulation, assignments and testimony. Candidates may choose to enter
employment in a supervisory care capacity
