Course Description/Aim
This course aims to provide a general overviews of the skills and knowledge
to work as a care assistant in a variety of care environments

Eligibility/Pre-requisites
The award is largely assessed through being observed in the workplace
carrying out the necessary skills required for each unit. In addition
assessment can be undertaken through questioning, accreditation of prior
learning; simulation, assignments and testimony Students who successfully
complete the course can progress to Level 3 or choose to enter employment
as a care assistant.
Audience
These courses are open to students over 16 years old who can satisfy the
College of their competence in English and of their ability to follow the
course satisfactorily. Students under 19 should have passed 4 GCSE's at
grade C or have equivalent qualifications.
