Description/Aim
Year 1 of the 3 In 1 BSc Hons Degree Pathway
The IDCS is the first of 3 years in NCC Education's career path
leading to a London Metropolitan University honours degree. The IDCS
syllabus has been designed to be flexible.
Who is the IDCS for?
The IDCS is course is open to college leavers wishing to take a
recognised diploma qualification in IT or their first step onto a
degree programme. This diploma is also an ideal qualification for IT
professionals looking to update their skills.
IDCS Course Structure
The IDCS gives students the ability to ‘pick and mix’ subjects,
allowing them the freedom to explore the topics which will be of
most benefit in developing their career.
To achieve the IDCS students must complete all four compulsory
modules and any four of the elective modules. Students who complete
their IDCS with two modules or more from one topic area receive
their IDCS 'majoring in' that particular topic area.
The Syllabus comprises two types of module:

1. Compulsory Module: Computer Technology
2. Compulsory Module: System Development
3. Compulsory Module: Business Organisation
4. Compulsory Module: Business Communication
5. Selected Option: Structured Programming
6. Selected Option: Visual Basic 6
7. Selected Option: Developing a Website
8. Selected Option: E- Commerce

Qualifications On Success |
Each module
is weighted at 12.5%. Assessments are carried out locally under
strict guidelines issued by NCC Education. All modules are
subject to moderation by NCC Education in the UK. |
